I’ve always had a lot of questions about the birth of Jesus. Being a birth photographer and giving birth twice myself, I know there’s a story behind each birth. I wonder how long Mary’s labor was? Did she have difficulty or was it a fairly easy process (as easy as birth can be)? Was Joseph the only person with her? Did they know how to cut the cord and deal with any postpartum complications ?
There are a lot of unanswered questions, but some things I know for sure:
1 ) A virgin conceived a child
2 ) He was no ordinary child
3 ) He was fully God
4 ) He was fully human
5 ) He grew in wisdom and stature
6 ) He was loved by “sinners”
7 ) Hated by religious people
8 ) He was crucified ( aka: endured a long, painful, torturous death)
9 ) He gave His life so that everyone could be forgiven every sin ever committed throughout all of time.
10 ) On the third day He rose from the dead, He lives today, and desires to have an intimate relationship with every human who opens the door and invites Him in.
Prayer: Jesus thank you for the gift of love you gave your creation. Thank you that there is coming a day when you will wipe away every tear, right every wrong, and dwell forever with all who have put their trust in you.
